Celebrating International Women's Day 2024: Our Favourite Female Founded B Corps

Celebrating International Women's Day 2024: Our Favourite Female Founded B Corps

At THE PACK, we are so proud to be a female founded B Corp Certified Company. We join an inspiring group of women that have pushed ethical and sustainable business forward.

Despite, there being a lot of progress in recent years and decades, there is much room for improvement. Currently only 23% of B Corps in the UK are owned or led by women.

So, what better way to celebrate International Women's Day 2024 than to bring some of our favourite women behind some of the worlds most iconic B-Corp brands to the forefront... we hope together, we can inspire more female founded businesses to thrive in the coming years.

Katerina Schneider, Ritual

Ritual is bringing a whole new level of transparency to the health and wellness industry with their science-based daily vitamins and supplements. They’re (rightfully) proud of offering 100% traceable ingredients, which has made them a trusted leader in prenatal vitamins.

Katerina Schneider, CEO & Founder, turned her house upside down to get rid of products with ingredients she couldn't get behind. She replaced everything from her cleaning supplies to her deodorant. But, in her search for an ideal prenatal vitamin, she found questionable ingredients. She couldn't find a brand that she trusted, so she decided to build her own.

As a B Corp, their sustainability standards are built on science, and their production road map is intended to leave no trace. For example, their vitamin C is manufactured using 100% renewable energy, and they've saved over 4,249,299,600 fish since 2018 by using Omega-3 DHA from microalgae.

Elin Roberts, Better Nature

Elin Roberts is one of the Co-Founders of Better Nature, a tempeh company. She is leading the charge to inspire more people to embrace the world of tempeh and eat a little bit more sustainably. She’s been a long-time advocate of plant-based eating, having been veggie for over 10 years and vegan for almost 8.

Elin and the team love a good health hack. So, when they came across a versatile, wholefood protein that was also packed with fibre and gut-friendly prebiotics, they knew they had to get the word out there. Better Nature set a goal to get 100 million people regularly eating tempeh by 2030. Tempeh is made with fermented whole soybeans, and has been eaten as a protein staple in Indonesia for 400 years so it’s well and truly tried and tested. Whether in a stir-fry, sarnie, salad or even a smoothie, half a pack of tasty tempeh gives you more than double the protein of an egg while adding to your plant points too. Better Nature kindly donate 1% of their sales to tackle malnutrition in Indonesia, where tempeh originates. Better Nature tempeh has a very low carbon footprint (verified by My Emissions) and is made using sustainably-grown, non-GMO soya beans.

Better Nature Tempeh is available in Tesco, Asda, Lidl, REWE, Whole Foods, Planet Organic, Selfridges, Mindful Chef, Bidfood and many more.

Julie Chen, Cheeky Panda

Julie Chen started Cheeky Panda when she fell in love with her co-founder Chris Forbes. Toilet paper might not be everyone's idea of a romance, but Chen's commitment to creating a sustainable future has seen their bamboo toilet paper and wipe business doubling in value every year since they started.

As CEO Julie is proving that businesses really can be both successful and sustainable. Cheeky Panda became carbon neutral way back in 2017 and is one of UK's top 6 start-up companies. Julie has a keen interest in sustainable issues and doing what she can to contribute to a greener world.

Rebecca & Kate, Better Packaging Co

The global eCommerce industry uses approximately 2.1 billion pounds of plastic packaging each year, and unfortunately, most of this packaging ends up in landfill.

Founders Rebecca and Kate decided courier, eCommerce and retail packaging needed a serious overhaul.

Better Packaging Co. produces revolutionary, customisable, sustainable packaging solutions like mailers and satchels, garment bags, labels and tape.

What sets them apart? All packaging is either home-compostable or made from ocean-bound, recycled plastic. And, because they take product stewardship very seriously, they've invested in an extensive collection network so that people who don’t have a home compost are able to dispose of their packaging responsibly.

Laura Tenison, JoJo Maman Bébé

Lara Tenison's founding story started with a hospitalisation after a nasty car accident. She was placed next to a young mother who told her all about her struggle finding quality clothes for her children. So with the mission to create a safe space for mums and children, JoJo Maman Bébé was born, allowing mums to order children's clothes from a mail order catalogue. JoJo Maman Bébé has grown from strength to strength and is providing the world with everything a child needs from birth to school age, as well as everything a mum needs for her pregnancy.

Judy Nadel, THE PACK & Vevolution

Judy Nadel is proving that food tech and plant-based, compassionate options are the future. In 2017, Judy co-founded Vevolution—a platform for plant-based innovators to come together and bring to life their solutions for making the world a more sustainable, kinder place. In 2020, she co-founded us, THE PACK, making her a leader in the plant-based space for our four-legged friends. Both of Judy’s companies have become driving forces in strengthening the vegan movement and building communities—first for humans and now for 'human's best friend'.

We at THE PACK are grateful for the women above, among others, who accelerated the plant-based revolution that is happening before our eyes, that we are so excited to be a part of.

We would love to give our readers 30% off today to celebrate International Women's Day. You can use code IWD30 to save on our range of wet food or our Oven Baked Crunchy Feast.
