After a well-deserved break, all of the team here at THE PACK feel refreshed and we’re raring to go for 2022. This month alone, we’re celebrating Veganuary, launching single flavour meal packs and have a couple of fun experiences lined up for both pet parents and their pups.
First and foremost though, we hope you and your loved ones (humans and doggies) had a fantastic festive break - indulging as well as resting, because life is all about balance and moderation. Our pup Blossom certainly drooled over her parsnips and sprouts and we may have eaten one or five too many roast potatoes, which brings us on to fresh starts...
Self-improvement is a classic theme for New Year’s resolutions, but to improve the planet, collective action is critical and one of the best things you can do is get involved. But it’s hard, we hear you! That’s why Veganuary is a great place to start.
Veganuary isn't just for humans anymore!
Veganuary inspires millions of people every year to try living life on the veg and we’re HUGE supporters of the campaign. But why stop with what you eat? What about the impact of the food you feed your dog? For starters, the environmental carbon pawprint of pet food manufacturing creates greenhouse gas emissions equivalent to the total emissions from the Philippines (yes the entire country!). So whilst millions of Brits are cutting down on meat in their own diets, as pet parents, it’s time to also look for ways to reduce meat in our dogs’ diet and explore the wonders of vegan dog food.
Whether you’re already plant-based, or you’re just dipping your toe into the water this January, Veganuary is a pawesome opportunity for you and your dog to eat more plants. Simply by introducing Meat Free Muttdays to help them transition to eating more fruit and vegetables is a great way to start, and to make it as easy as possible, we’re offering a droolicious 40% off your first order on our plant-based wet food range when you use the code PACKVEG40.
Following a shift in consumer attitudes towards knowing more about where the ingredients come from in pet food, and buying pet food from environmentally friendly companies, here at THE PACK we’re continuing to see a rise in ‘flexi-dogians’, If you’re unfamiliar with the term ‘flexi-dogian’ it’s a dog that eats mainly vegetarian and vegan dog food with the occasional meat treat - check out this story from our friends at Green Queen exploring the topic.
